Around 25,000 residences in southeastern Queensland woke up without power on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems passed over the state, producing strong winds topping over 100 km/h.

Residents observed large ice chunks as large as 7 centimeters in some areas. Weather authorities announced that different parts across Queensland had been hit with large hailstones.

Response teams were working to restore energy supply throughout the damaged zones, with nearly 70 crews deployed to manage the widespread outages.
Victorian Climate Difficulties
At the same time, nearly one thousand households in the southern state also faced energy failures after the capital city experienced its heaviest rainfall in over 500 days.
Emergency response teams handled nearly 600 requests for assistance across the area, primarily for building damage but also for downed trees and flooding.

At one point on the previous day, over 28,000 power users in the state were without power.

Moist weather were forecast to persist along significant areas of Queensland's east this week as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the coast.
Tomorrow was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with continued thunderstorm potential expected across various areas of both states.
