The Global Health Body Raises Warning Over Critical Lack of Obesity Injections
Under one in 10 patients that would benefit from obesity jabs like Wegovy have access to them, caution the global health agency as it releases its inaugural advice on the therapies.

GLP-1 Therapy Scarcity

The guideline encourages governments and firms to increase access, by strategies including patent sharing.
A patent on a key compound – the main ingredient of Novo Nordisk's Wegovy – is set to lapse in multiple countries in 2026.
